The Minarets, Sunset, #7

The Minarets are a mountain range in the Sierra Nevadas that were first brought into the public consciousness by Ansel Adams. Accessing them requires a backcountry trip into what is known today as the Ansel Adams Wilderness (part of Inyo National Forest) in California. This shot--a portion of the Minarets reflected in Minaret Lake--is enhanced by the smoke of a forest fire a few canyons over, as the sun sets over a saddle in the Minaret's crags.
